Origin Source Types are captured during the Schema Snapshot > Origin Connections > Get Connections Tab process.
They are used to identify the type of the Origin Connections (e.g. folder, ODBC, OLEDB).

There are no IPDF default values.

  1. In the Manage Tab click on the New or Edit links
  2. Type the following data:
    1. Name: the name of the Governance. This can be an user name, a system or mechanism that enters the dataOrigin Source Type
    2. Description: free text description
    3. Sort Index: the sequence of the Dictionary Entry Types displayed at Data Dictionary > Dictionary Entries > Manage Tab
    4. Governance (optional): associated Governance item
    5. Notes (optional):  free text optional notes

Dictionary Entry Origin Source Types are required in the Data Dictionary > Dictionary Entries > Manage Tabfor Origin Connections

Warning

Deleting a Dictionary Entry an Origin Source Type will exclude automatically all associated Dictionary Entries Origin Connections
