Manage Tab

Origin Source Types are captured during the Schema Snapshot > Origin Connections > Get Connections Tab process.
They are used to identify the type of the Origin Connections (e.g. folder, ODBC, OLEDB).

There are no IPDF default values.This is the place to store logic that is specific to a script template for renaming fields and tables.

QVD Templates defines naming conventions for QVD Table names and QVD Field aliases.

Step-by-step guide

1. In the Manage Tab click on the New or Edit linksType the  links
2. You can update any of the fields presentedthe following data:
   1. Name: the name of the Origin Source Typetemplate
   2. Description: free  freeform text description
   3. Governance (optional): associated Governance item
   4. Notes (optional):  free text optional notes

Apply QVD Template Tab

Step-by-step guide

1. In the Manage Tab click on the New or Edit links
2. Type the following data:
   1. Name: the name of the Origin Source Type
   2. Description: free text descriptionKey Field Prefix:  rule for characters to be appended to the left side of the field name
   3. Key Field Suffix: rule for characters to be appended to the right side of the field name
   4. Rename Field RegEx: rule for changing the name of the field as it is found in the QVD
   5. Rename Table RegEx: rule for changing the name of the table as it is stored as a QVD
   6. Governance (optional): associated Governance item
   7. Notes (optional):  free text optional notes

1. 1. when finished, click on the Update or Cancel links in the lower right area of this form

Apply QVD Template Tab

Use this screen to make a high level (bulk) association of tables for a snapshot with a new or updated QVD Template

Select these options from the drop-down lists in this sequence to make an association of your QVD template with a specific set of tables associated with a specific snapshot

1. Schema Snapshot 
2. Origin Tables
3. QVD Template

Then click the button to Apply QVD Template and wait for the completion message.
