Task Manager for Qlik View provides a way to migrate, task trees and CALs from one QlikView environment to another.
Q: What does this product do?
A: Task Manager for QlikView (QVTM) automates the creation of tasks and dependent tasks (task trees) in a QlikView environment. QVTM provides the capability to back up task trees from one QlikView environment and restore them to a different (or the same) QlikView environment. In addition, QVTM allows the administrator to list QlikView Named CALs, as well a import them back in the same, or into a new environment.
Q: What are typical business use cases for QVTM?
A:
(1) SDLC: As part of your System Development Life Cycle, QVTM allows you to easily take task trees that you have created in your test/dev environment and copy them to your QA and then to your Production environments.
(2) MIGRATION: Migrating from one server to another during an upgrade of hardware or software. Use QVTM to automate the migration of tasks and CAL assignments saving hours of re-keying and data entry errors.
(3) CONTINUITY: Exported task trees can be easily backed up as part of your incremental backup cycle thereby allowing an automated way to take daily snapshots of the entire task structure in the event a (partial or full) restore is needed.

Q: How is QVTM licensed?
A: Annual subscription license limited to the QlikView servers you own.
Q: Do I need a separate license for each QlikView server?
A: No. One QVTM license will be used to copy tasks across all of your QlikView servers.
Q: Does QVTM require its own server?
A: No. While QVTM can run from a server, all that is needed are connections to the QlikView environments you are working with. Most of our clients run QVTM from a desktop.
Q: Does QVTM require a QlikView Publisher to work?
A: Yes. You should have a license for QlikView Publisher to take advantage of the features of Task Manager for QlikView.

Q: Will copying CALS with QVTM violate my Qlik EULA?
A: QVTM allows you to copy your CALs and their user allocations, it does not provide a way to be out of compliance with your Qlik End User License Agreement.
